PROFILE

Over 20 years of experience using Ruby on Rails, building applications for the web. As a polyglot developer I've also worked on DotNet/C# and Go projects backends with Next.js frontends.

Experienced with all facets of development end-to-end from concept to production deployment, Ops, DevOps and maintenance. I like working closely with customers to define and implement product.

Looking for a role in which I can use my experience and knowledge on a skillfully diverse, trusting team be it remote or hybrid/on-site and have fun while doing it.

  • Lead the team to build from Concept to Product definition to development to production deployment of mission critical software used as the operating system of the lending business.
  • At this startup I lead a team of 6 developers on this project, mentored and managed a team of mixed experienced engineers to build a modern cloud native apps using Ruby on Rails web app and GraphQL API that powered the React and Next.js apps.

  • Lead the migration of existing systems to use modern technologies to achieve a more efficient business processes. Migration legacy self-managed on-prem systems to AWS to leverage the cloud architecture and services provided by AWS.

  • Employee #3 at startup Flektor that was purchased by MySpace. We created an online video editing and sharing platform very advanced for it's time, all with Flash and Ruby on the backend. I was the sole web developer at the company and was responsible for integrating backend service API's and front-end development working intensively with product owners and designers to get the product to market and integration into the MySpace ecosystem. We created the worlds first live debates platform with live Q&A for the 2008 US Presidential election in conjunction with MySpace and Fox Interactive Media.

Attended this special academy designed to help the underserved community in the midst of recovery from the damage sustained during the Los Angeles Riots years prior. This School was funded by various donors such as Pioneer Electronics, Maxine Waters and Magic Johnson.
